Dr. Bertiger is a clinical gastroenterologist practicing in the Northwest Philadelphia area for over 30 years. He is the Managing Partner and President of Hillmont, GI, P.C. He is also the Section Chief of Gastroenterology at Chestnut Hill Hospital and the Director of the endoscopy unit at Chestnut Hill Hospital. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He developed the first certified Ambulatory Endoscopy Center in the state of Pennsylvania. He has developed his practice as a vertically integrated gastroenterology practice with lines of business, in addition to GI clinical practice, in pathology, histology, anesthesia, ambulatory surgery and clinical research. He has consulted in medical affairs with several companies in the pharmaceutical industry and served as a principal investigator for several FDA monitored trials. His publications are in the areas of bowel preparations and basic motility research.

Steven A. Edmundowicz, MD, FASGE

Medical Director of the Digestive Health Center at the University of Colorado Hospital and Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine

Dr. Edmundowicz is the Medical Director of the Digestive Health Center at the University of Colorado Hospital and Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colorado. He is active in clinical practice, clinical investigation, teaching and administration, and is a consultant and advisory board member for a number of medical device companies. Dr. Edmundowicz is also the associate editor for ASGE News and was previously the senior associate editor of the journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, where he also completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology.

Prof. Ian M. Gralnek, MD, MSHS, FASGE

Associate Professor of Medicine at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and Chief, Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Ha’Emek Medical Center

Professor Gralnek is Associate Professor of Medicine at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and Chief, Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Ha’Emek Medical Center, Afula, Israel. Previously, he was a Senior Physician in the Institute of Gastroenterology at Rambam Health Care Campus, where he also headed the GI Outcomes Unit and was Chief of Hospital-Wide Ambulatory Care Services. Professor Gralnek is a Fellow and a councilor on the governing board of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He has published more than 200 original papers, reviews, case reports, editorials, book chapters, and scientific abstracts. Professor Gralnek received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis where he also served as Chief Resident. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at UCLA Center for the Health Sciences and also completed a fellowship in health services research through UCLA, RAND and the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. He also received a Master’s Degree in Health Services from the UCLA School of Public Health.

Seth A. Gross, MD, FACG, FASGE, AGAF

Associate Professor of Medicine, NYU Langone Health

Dr. Gross is a leading physician with over 17 years of experience as a gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist. He currently is an Associate Professor of Medicine, NYU Langone Health. Dr. Gross has authored a number of abstracts and papers in the field of gastroenterology, is active on national committees and has participated in teaching new and advanced techniques in gastroenterology. Dr. Gross serves on the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Institute’s board of directors and is an ACG Educational Affairs Committee member. Dr. Gross received his MD from the Sackler School of Medicine New York State American Program of Tel Aviv University and completed his residency at Northshore University Hospital and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

Brian Jacobson, MD, MPH, AGAF, FASGE

Director of program development for gastroenterology, MASSACHUSETTS General Hospital

Brian C. Jacobson, MD, MPH, FASGE, AGAF, is a gastroenterologist and the Director of Program Development for the Gastroentorology division. Dr. Jacobson cares for people with a broad range of gastrointestinal problems and has expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures for the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Jacobson is also a therapeutic endoscopist performing endoscopic ultrasonography with fine-needle aspiration, ERCP, endoscopic mucosal resection, and placement of internal stents for palliation of malignant obstructions. He participates in the training of fellows, residents, and medical students at Boston Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine. He serves as a Councilor on the Governing Board of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Jacobson received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College, his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and his Master’s Degree in Public Health from Harvard University School of Public Health. He completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He later served as Chief Medical Resident at Brigham and Women’s followed by a fellowship in Advanced Interventional Endoscopy at the Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals.

David Lieberman, MD, FACG

Professor of Medicine, Chief, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Oregon Health and Science University

Dr. Lieberman serves as the Professor of Medicine, Chief, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Oregon Health and Science University. He is also the Executive Director of the Clinical Outcomes Research Initiative and Chair of the CDC/American Cancer Society Task Force on Colonoscopy. Dr. Lieberman was previously the Associate Editor of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and served as the Director of the NIH Workshop on Endoscopic Research Priorities. He has served on a number of AGA committees, and currently chairs the Colorectal Cancer Advisory Panel. Dr. Lieberman currently sits on the AGA Institute Governing Board and became President of the AGA Institute in May 2018. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University.

Professor Peter D. Siersema, MD, PhD, FASGE

Professor of Endoscopic Gastroenterology Oncology, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Radboud University Medical Center

Peter D. Siersema, MD, PhD is Professor of Endoscopic Gastrointestinal Oncology at the Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, The Netherlands. His clinical interests include pre-malignant and malignant diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, especially esophageal cancer, hepato-biliary-pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer. He is specialized in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, I.e. endoscopic imaging, EMR/ESD, stent placement and ERCP. Professor Siersema is President of the Dutch Society of Gastroenterology, Chair of the Committee for Revising the Dutch Gastroenterology Fellowship curriculum and Member of the Advisory Board of the Development and Innovation Committee of the Dutch Cancer Society. On an international level, he is President of the European Society for Diseases of Esophagus (ESDE) and a member of the Governing Board of the European Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE). Professor Siersema is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Endoscopy. He has authored more than 550 peer-reviewed papers and chapters in books and has edited more than 20 books.
